Gautier:
Virtually everything in Gautier’s first showroom in Canada is modular and convertible, like kids’ beds that widen into doubles as the child grows or conceal an extra bed in a drawer underneath for impromptu sleepovers. Check out the dinner-party-ready white lacquered consoles that effortlessly convert into elegant six- to eight-person tables. The condo-focused ode to “stylish French living” is decidedly eco-friendly too – the wood comes from sustainably managed forests in France or from recycled cut-offs. 230 ADELAIDE ST E 416 777 9494 MON 11-6, TUE, WED & FRI 11-7, THU 11-8, SAT 10-6, SUN 12-5 GAUTIER-SHOPS.COM

Eliile:
After cutting his teeth at Kiosk, Nathaniel Garcia opened this cornucopia of home furnishings (pronounced “e-li-el,” by the way). He stocks fixtures from Italian lighting giant FontanaArte, including Shigeru Ban’s razor-thin arching floor lamp, as well as seating and table options from Chicago’s Andreu World America, by top-notch names such as Patricia Urquiola and Javier Mariscal. The outdoor grandeur of Royal Botania’s resort-worthy Wave hammock and Paloform’s sculptural concrete fireplaces offer a nice contrast. 74 STAFFORD ST 416 882 1618 MON-FRI 10-5 BY APPT ELIILE.COM

CB2:
Crate and Barrel’s younger, cooler furniture brand set up shop at the former site of the Purple Monster, or The Big Bop, at Queen and Bathurst earlier this year, and many of the kids who frequented the beloved punk venue now find themselves eerily drawn to CB2 for its surprisingly affordable, condo-appropriate furniture, like the eye-popping Max Orange Felt Sleeper Ottoman. There are plenty of great accessories too, like the stemless martini glasses decorated with illustrations of stick figures attacking olives. 651 QUEEN ST W 416 366 2828 MON-FRI 11-7, SAT 10-8, SUN 12-5 CB2.COM

Céragrès:
Castlefield’s tile market got some stiff new competition when this Montreal company opened its doors. The spacious showroom is incredibly user-friendly whether you’re a pro or a newbie, and all the ceramic, porcelain, slate, stone and quartz lines it carries are regionally exclusive to Céragrès. The entrancing Métal mosaics in stainless steel and copper offer a mesmerizing effect, while the newest E collection of large format tiles look like wood but are, in fact, ceramic. 170 TYCOS DR 416 286 3553 MON-WED 9:30-5:30, THU 9:30-8, FRI & SAT 9:30-5:30 CERAGRES.CA
