Shop Here: Luxe Appliance Studio

Joining the front-runners of kitchen thoroughbreds on King east is an appliance powerhouse with three brands on display. Thermador, Bosch and Gaggenau (the most luxe) have come together in a former munitions factory. Tour posh kitchen vignettes featuring Cambria quartz countertops, cabinets by Scavolini and islands from Bulthaup loaded with all the gizmos. The 557-square-metre showroom flaunts the brands’ innovative induction cooktops, built-in refrigerators with bottom freezers, wall-mount ovens and water-conserving dishwashers. What’s cool is that one of the kitchen setups is live, allowing cooks to actually grill, steam or fry on the spot. (a vented ceiling purges the smell of any occasional burnt offering.)

SHOP HERE FOR: High-end appliances. all can be test-run here and then purchased through the distributor. Gaggenau offers fully modular refrigerators (from $5999) with racks that adjust at the touch of a button. Bosch excels at quiet, sleek dishwashers (from $749), and Gaggenau’s Vario cooktop (from $1899) mixes stainless steel features like a built-in deep fryer, an electric grill and a gas wok.

BEST BET: Techies love Thermador’s Freedom full-surface induction cooktop. a smart surface replaces old-fashioned preset burners. This cooktop actually recognizes the size, shape and position of a pot and automatically calls up heat and timing options on a touch screen control pad ($5899).
