Cloud Garden
A variegated urban oasis nestled into the fabric of downtown, Cloud Garden was designed by Baird Sampson Neuert Architects. A series of ramps and terraces allows the site to be experienced from a variety of angles, and a memorial – in the form of a red oxide steel grid, created by artist Margaret Priest – honours the city’s construction workers. An urban woodland boasting native oak, hemlock and maple trees complements the conservatory, designed to simulate the conditions of a tropical cloud forest.
