In less than 30 minutes, you can get from the city core to one of the GTA’s largest modern furniture shops. This showroom and manufacturing facility has kept tabs on the trends in Italian furniture design for more than 30 years. Focused on durability and comfort, Selene produces its elegant sofas, chairs and beds on site but devotes much of its showroom to wardrobes, beds and chairs by Presotto Italia (Selene is the manufacturer’s exclusive North American distributor) as well as other imports. The latest from Presotto includes sleek wall systems with fronts in stone veneer or Cor-ten (think raw, almost-rusted steel). Among the other recent finds: the Toronto dining table by Sovet featuring a lacquered glass, finger-print-proof top and architectural wenge base; outdoor furniture by Metalco; and a stunning, free-standing storage unit in Corian by Varaschin.
