Poliform

What accounts for Poliform’s longevity is its immunity to passing fads; it hasn’t wavered from producing luxurious goods for modernists. Solid, functional and elegant, many of these items are designed by stellar names such as Jean-Marie Massaud, Paola Navone and Carlo Colombo.

Unlike Kiosk, which operates Poliform from around the corner, this showroom eschews museum-style displays in favour of real-life vignettes. It’s not too difficult a feat, considering Poliform offers the full package: walk-in closets with glass display cases, sculptural upholstered beds and sofas, modular wood-veneer storage units and customizable kitchens that blur the line between cooking and living spaces. The showroom is laid out as two separate apartments, each move-in ready and fully furnished, all the way down to the pillowcases.

SHOP HERE FOR: Modular bookcases and wardrobes that make a convincing case for going with engineered systems over custom millwork. The freestanding Wall System bookcase, for instance, can flex to any space or size. Available in walnut, wenge and 28 colourful lacquers, it can be custom configured as a library or an entertainment centre.

BEST BET: The bespoke Ubik walk-in closet has numerous accessory and container options for tucking things out of sight, including shirt trays, shoe racks and compartmentalized drawers. The system comes in three different heights but looks best as a floor-to-ceiling model.
