Filipe Lisboa’s lighting company, Viso Inc., began outside of Lisbon, but he brought it home to Canada in 2002. His nature-inspired fixtures have illuminated local residences, restaurants (Terroni, Jump), and hotels (Thompson, Le Germain) ever since – not to mention New York’s Saks Fifth Avenue, Audi’s Bavarian HQ and the Mövenpick hotel in Dubai. With its honeycomb-like diffuser, Capella (above) is built at Viso’s 3,345-square-metre head office in Riverdale, before going off to a Markham facility for its mirrored copper coating.
