DL’s Designer of the Year Award 2020

Designlines magazine is pleased to announce the launch of our 2020 Designer of the Year competition, where we will celebrate the creative problem-solving and design prowess of one exceptional individual (or studio) working in the field of residential interior design. The winning designer will be profiled in the first issue of 2020, distributed in early January and showcased at both the Interior Design Show and DesignTO’s offsite festival. The winning designer will also be recognized at a special Designlines celebration during DesignTO’s offsite festival.

Brief designer profile: 300 words max

Project submissions: submit up to five (5) projects. Note: the focus of the competition is residential interiors. Photos, plans and project descriptions (up to 500 words) must be submitted as pdfs, one (1) pdf per project, and no larger than 10mb total. Project descriptions should include a full explanation of the concept, including how it demonstrates creative use of space and responds to other challenges.

How to Enter

There are three easy steps to the submission process.

1. Please submit all information and materials as listed in the submissions requirements section above by email to [email protected] by September 30th. After you submit your entry, a confirming email will be sent requesting the processing payment fee of $100 CAD. If a confirmation email does not arrive within two (2) business days, please contact [email protected]
2. Follow the instructions in the entry confirmation email to complete the processing payment for your submission. You will be directed to a Shopify page with payment options. For consideration in the competition, payment must be received by September 30th. Once payment is made, an email confirming payment will be sent. If a confirmation email does not arrive within two (2) business days, please contact [email protected]
3. Finalists will be notified by October 25, 2019.
