Canada’s artisans flaunt their craft at this biannual trade show of the unique, bizarre and downright artful (and which, ahem, is sponsored by DL). Since 1979, the show has attracted more than 1,000 makers and 200,000 shoppers per year. Best bets for 2020’s spring edition include Hoi Bo‘s locally-made clothing and accessories, Cybèle B. Pilon‘s handmade ceramics and Acid League‘s line of colourful artisanal vinegars. But with a selection of jewellery, textiles, glass, ceramics, candles and more, there’s something for everyone (yes, even that one hard-to-please person).
Update: One of a Kind has moved online! Starting April 7, OOAK will host online shows from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. via Instagram Stories featuring artisans, creatives and makers. Don’t fret if you can’t tune in live – each show will be archived so viewers can visit the artists’ “booths” whenever they want. Check out OOAK’s Instagram here.
