The Historic Guild Inn Gets Some Modern Love

Guild Inn

Dynamic Hospitality and Entertainment Group gives an overlooked landmark some serious TLC

By Eric Mutrie

Scarborough’s Guild Inn, reopening next year as a wedding venue and event space, offers something old and something new. Working with heritage consultant Philip Goldsmith, architects Peter Pascaris and Giancarlo Garofalo are restoring the 1914 property to its former glory and adding a handsome addition. A trellis-covered patio will allow guests to take in the nearby Guild Park sculpture garden of columns, archways and other architectural pieces salvaged from Toronto ruins. In the distance, Lake Ontario is a pop of something blue.
