Vaughan Welcomes a Novel New Library

Modern library design meets playful innovation
Angled strips of glass and aluminum fan out along the facade of Vaughan’s new Civic Centre Resource Library like the pages of a book. ZAS Architects designed the branch’s sweeping roofline as a nod to the roller coaster tracks at Canada’s Wonderland nearby – a fitting reminder that 21st-century libraries aren’t just for stuffy lit anymore. Inside, the two-storey facility is tricked out with a café, a teen lounge and maker spaces that include all the latest 3-D printer and media production suite tech. zasa.com
