Tungstene’s Aube Collection Emphasizes The Art of Soft Accent Lighting

Aube Collection

The Montreal lighting studio marks a new beginning with the line that draws focus through an elegant floating effect

By Joseph Cicerone

Handcrafted fixtures are a specialty of Montreal-based lighting studio Tungstene. Marrying powder-coated steel with accents of white oak and milky white glass globes, the studio’s latest line of fixtures is a testament to its knack for producing modern and globally-inspired designs. The Aube Collection, created in collaboration with design firm Atelier Filz, spans suspension pendants, wall-mounted swing arm lamps and scones in a variety of on-trend, matte finishes. It also happens to be the studio’s first line available to the Toronto market; available through Scarborough lighting agency Salex. Here are some of our favourite items from the newly launched collection.

Aube Collection, Designlines

The Clara

Designed for living spaces in motion – if you’re someone who constantly rearranges their furniture, you understand – this swing arm wall mount is dressed with a wooden holder that beautifully contrasts the light’s brass rod. Like most of the Aube collection, this lamp comes in five pre-selected finishes, with more than twenty additional colourways available. Consider this piece the finishing touch to your new home office or reading nook.

Modern Lighting

The Ellen

Available as a wall sconce, handing pendant or chic table lamp, the Ellen is one of the Aube collection’s standout designs. Contemporary and coy, this minimalist light blends seamlessly into any interior design scheme. For those seeking a more natural look, a deep black or white finish allows the natural white oak and frosted bulb to take centre stage.

Tungstene lamp

The Benedict

This pendant’s metal dome pulls from mid-century and industrial design styles. With the Aube collection’s signature frosted bulb tucked neatly beneath the shade, Benedict’s sleek silhouette is as sculptural as it is functional. Our favourite finishes to match the white oak detail include a near-burgundy Châtaigne and royal blue meets navy Bleu Minuit.
